Test Methods

In the following numerous parameters of industrial hipot testing in photovoltaics are mentioned.

There are 4 types of orientation mode:

  • Vertical (as on some types of HARREXCO Stinger Series HV002, dry devices)
  • Horizontal (as on most HARREXCO Stinger Series HV004 – 007, dry devices)
  • Flat Inclined (HARREXCO Stinger Series HV008, wet devices can be delivered with this option, which minimizes cycle time and liquid loss)
  • Steep Inclined (HARREXCO Multisize Superfast Stinger Series HV009)

There are 2 types of leading mode:

  • Short Side Leading
  • Long Side Leading

There are 6 junction box modes:

  • Junction Box incl. Leads
  • Junction Box incl. Leads Preclipped
  • Junction Box incl. Leads Differential Length
  • Junction Box excl. Leads Encapsulated / Potted
  • Junction Box excl. Leads
  • No Junction Box

There are 3 main types of operating mode:

  • Manual (Loading Manual, Contacting Manual, Activation Manual)
  • Semi-Automatic (Loading Automatic, Contacting Manual, Activation Manual)
  • Fully-Automatic, either conventional mechantronics or robotic (Loading Automatic, Contacting Automatic, Activation Automatic)

There are 3 types of process mode:

  • Wet Leakage Test IEC 61646, IEC 61370, UL 1703 (trough and drying integrated)
  • Damp (dosing of an electrolyte) – Innovative Wet Leakage Test combining IEC 61646, IEC 61370 and UL 1703
  • Dry Leakage Test UL 1703

There are 2 types of testing mode:

  • Q.C. –> Inline Fullscale Production (fast and high powered)
  • IEC – UL / Sampling –> Certification Testing (slow and low powered)

There are 4 types of data mode:

  • Pass/Fail not documented but only gated
  • Pass/Fail documented without decentral access
  • Pass/Fail documented with decentral access
  • Pass/Fail documented with decentral access and MES solution
